A communication team member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Sissala East constituency Mr. Basugu Bawa Rauf has indicated that the party has shown commitment to solving the unemployment situation in the country.
Various Government has brought several policies on solving graduate unemployment that has occasion the formation graduate unemployment Association in the country. Mr. Rauf noted that, the NPP government with three years governing the country, it has brought forth some short term policies that has given some employment opportunities to the youth. He mentioned Nation Builders Corps and Youth in Afforestation as some of the program rollout by the government that many youth has taken advantage.
He implored on the citizenry to renew the mandate of the NPP government to continue enjoying programmes and policies like: Free Senior High School, Planting for food and jobs as well as other social intervention.
Speaking on the same program, Communication director of the opposition National Democratic Congress Mr Bawa Peter Bawie clarified that, no one opposes the implementation of the free senior high school but however was concern with how the policy was being implemented.
He mentioned that, the Party flag bearer has on several platforms said free Senior High School has come to stay but was a bit concern with the way the policy was being handled and called for the need to review the policy to make it more efficient that would benefit the Ghanaian students.
He questioned why there should be creation of a special unit just to handle issues of free senior high school when the education Service has mandated constitutionally tackled issues of education in the country.
