Cinemas are closed but Bloombar is working – Sam Goerge confronts Mark Okraku

Sam George questions how Mark Okraku Mantey’s appointment and proximity to the President should have benefited the Creative Arts Industry.

According to the MP, cinemas remain closed, but churches are fully operational. Can’t we open the cinemas and do social distancing there and observe the protocols? he questioned. He continued that although cinemas remain shut, entertainment centres like Bloombar and Sandbox are working.

Sam George also pointed out the employment opportunities created by the industry remain closed if the cinemas are out of business. He said industry players Roverman Productions, Foster Romanus and Clemento Suarez helping young boys and girls find a living in the theatres. So if the National Theater is open and seating spaced out, can they not make money?

Sam Georg said, “What has Mark done to hold Nana Addo, who he campaigned for in 2016, who promised to build theatres for the Creative Arts. Right now that the cinemas are closed, and the Creative Arts cannot flourish. And they don’t have any source of livelihood. What has Mark used his proximity to Nana Addo to do for the Creative Arts?

According to Sam George, young boys are starving and dying because their only source of income remains closed.
