Ghanaian Reggae and Dancehall, Samini has given credence to the claim by colleague Kwaw Kese that some musicians in the country are into the consumption of marijuana otherwise known as wee.
Samini on Starr Chart of Wednesday admitted he used to smoke wee but said he has given up on the smoking the substance but could not give a definite date he stopped and whether he may resume or not.
“I have smoked ‘wee’ before and I wouldn’t deny it, I can’t say I quit because I don’t remember the last time I said I don’t or haven’t smoked before, I wouldn’t say yes and I wouldn’t say no, because it would depend on my mood, I smoked wee this year in Seattle-USA because its legal there, its legal in Holland and a lot of other countries,” he said.
Recently controversial rapper, Kwaw Kese who was incarcerated sometime back in 2015 for using marijuana otherwise known as “wee” in local parlance has revealed that several of his colleagues are into the use of the substance.
“I know a lot artistes smoke who smoke, nobody cares. Why is it because Kwaw Kese says he is Abodam and he’s caught smoking weed…me I don’t care, I smoke and the police know I smoke.”
According to the Section 5 of the Narcotic Drugs (Control, Enforcement AND Sanctions) Law, 1990 (PNDCL 236) states:
“No person shall without lawful authority or excuse smoke, sniff, consume, inject in his body or otherwise administer narcotic drug on his body.”
